Freya's VA was known to be annoying and shouty in game but they kept her voice in still. Other times they've accidentally tripped over themselves, everyone used to like Todd Haberkorn for Vamana but they removed his VP, now he sounds like an anime VA protag that nobody knows. The ones that want their old god design and the ones that want the god to be updated which is easily solved by giving people fucking retro/classic skins lol The point I'm getting at is that all hirez needs to do when they do remodels is keep both sides happy. Anything to keep a little of that old spirit there. It wasn't the same character thematically anymore. Model isn't even close to the original and they changed his voice pack completely. Compared to loki who they completely changed. Added a few things here and there but the god still looked like Zeus did. They basically took the dudes really outdated old model and make him look fucking fine. Like the problem with some of these remodels is they'd remodel the god, change the voicepack and then there would be no trace of what some people loved about the original left.Īs two examples, one being good and one not Zeus and Loki. In fairness to us old players, not all of us want to keep the nostalgic shit or at least we would like it if it stayed but as a skin. Kind of a rant, sorry about that, but I just think that the excuse they've been giving for not having new remodels for some time now, to me, is complete horseshit. Most other online games don't do that at all, the devs try their best to improve the game and keep older content on the same level of what's new with no fear of "offending" people overly attached to a bunch of pixels on their screen. Some older players that have been playing Smite since closed beta have an attachment to stuff like pre-remodel Bacchus, Athena's voice and crap like that, but to everyone else, including most new players, those things look/sound like garbage and are just relics of a past that Smite has since moved from ages ago. The current dev team seems too scared to "offend" (how does that word even works on this context?) nostalgia-driven people that activelly want to make the game worst by holding outdated content hostage. One of the reasons I lost a lot of interest with Smite was precisely this, tbh. It's the kindof thing I expected from Project Olympus, especially when we just got a God schedule 50% as large as previous years. I realise that remodels are a lengthy/difficult process and not necessarily a money maker Hirez.īut is there any chance you could do minor tweaks like this to the gods who have been with us since 2012/2013?
